2014年4月8日的晚上，全世界频繁爆发令所有的人类和物质变得静止的怪异现象“浑浊”，由人工生命体机械变异体所引发并作出大规模破坏行动，事件后期被称之为“全球冻结”。 半年后，警视厅内部成立了部门特状课，负责调查与后期称之为“重加速”的现象有关特别案件，而特状课有一位曾经在“全球冻结”事件中造成了阴霾而变得散漫的青年刑警泊进之介，偶然与设置于跑车赛特朗内会说话的腰带相遇。 在发生新一度和“重加速”有关的事件之中，使用腰带变身成为假面骑士Drive与引发事件的怪物战斗。

The second season premiere is scheduled for a global launch around September–November 2017 in Europe, At a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2017, it was announced that the second season would have its North American release on Netflix in December 2017, with 13 episodes to be released. KidsClick will start airing season 2 of this show in the US starting 30 August 2018, marking the first time that Season 2 of this show airing on American over-the-air television. A third season is also in development. On 22 January 2018, Zag posted on Instagram that the crew was working on a fourth and fifth season. On 31 August premiered a new series with Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir which this time is in chibi style. On 5 September, 2018, Skydance Media has acquired the live-action film and live-action television rights.
